A query entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you directly send us a message, we may retain it long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. We do not share that communication outside our organization unless a valid legal duty requires disclosure.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Jones County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official routes to records held by the Jones County sheriff and clerk, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Information and Identification Section, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report, and this private website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
The North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, governs access to qualifying government records. It does not turn this privately run website's visitor data into a Jones County public record. Criminal investigation and intelligence material also has separate government-access rules under G.S. 132-1.4.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on some pages. Information entered there is handled under the provider's privacy terms, retention practices, and sharing rules rather than this policy. We do not control those practices, so visitors should review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Jones County offices, North Carolina court portals, SBI or NCDAC services, registry resources, and other outside websites. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Visitors should read it before supplying personal details.

Chapter 132 concerns records kept by government agencies, not data held by this private resource. Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, a visitor may:
